A beauty haul...again!

I have a haul. Again! Someone needs to stop me buying stuff! As it's now February, and after being very reserved over January, I thought I'd have a look round the shops and treat myself to a few new bits.

Makeup:

From ASOS I got 2 of the Stila liquid eyeshadows which I've wanted for ages but could never justify the £23 EACH for these. However I did have a 20% off code from my advent calendar so I thought I would treat myself. I got the shades into the blue which is their mermaid inspired shade, and smoky storm.

Onto concealers, I picked up the Bourjois radiance reveal concealer which is one of my favourites. I also got the Maybelline eraser eye which everyone seems to love. I've actually never tried it so I thought I'd see what all the hype is about.

I repurchased my current foundation which is the Max Factor lasting performance foundation in the shade 100 fair. I noticed there was a buy one get one half price offer on so I picked up another Max Factor foundation to try. I chose the healthy skin harmony foundation which has become my new favourite foundation! I really like it. It's pretty full coverage ad makes my skin look so much more healthy.

From Asda, I came across these 2 L'Oréal lipsticks. How pretty is the packaging!? I definitely didn't need these, but I just felt like I had to have them. I got the shades 235 nude and 258 berry blush, which are 2 very pretty shades that I know I'll get a lot of wear out of.

I'd been eyeing up the new Barry M mermaid nail varnishes since I saw they were coming out, so I decided to pick up a couple. I wasn't that keen on the lighter pinky shades, as I've got quite short nails I thought they'd look a bit naff on them. However I did pick up 2 shades - butterflyfish and jellyfish. How cute are these names!? I also got one of their liquid chrome nail varnishes in the shade glow crazy. There was an offer on where you got a free strobe cream if you spent £7 on Barry M products, which is great. However I've tried the strobe cream stick before and I didn't actually like it so I think I will be giving this one away.

Skincare:

Onto skincare, and from The Body Shop I got a few products. I have recently become obsessed with the tea tree range as I've found it has helped clear up my skin massively, so I picked up the tea tree clay mask and the tea tree matifying lotion, which I've been using under my foundation to stop me going oily, and I really think it has worked. I got the drops of light liquid peel, which is such a cool product! All you do is rub it into your skin and your dead skin rubs off instantly! I recommend trying it!

From ASOS i got the anatomicals moisturiser which so far I'm really liking.

The last 2 products I bought are 2 of the Lush valentines range. I got the whole lotta love bubbleroon and the rose bombshell bath bomb, which both smell amazing. They smell very similar, a very sweet rose scent which I really like.

And that's everything I've bought recently (beauty-wise at least). I hope this has given you some inspo if you were thinking of trying some new products! Let me know if you have any of these or anything you recommend.

Until next time.

My casual valentines look

It will soon be valentine's day, so I thought why not share with you my casual valentine's day look. This would be perfect for a casual meal or a day out, nothing too glam or fancy. This year me and Aaron are going away for the week to Cornwall, and on the actual day we are going go-karting so I think this outfit (with a change of shoes) will do just fine.

Face:

For foundation I used the Max Factor lasting performance foundation in the shade 100 fair, paired with the Essence 24 hr stay concealer. Over the top of this I used the MUA transparent powder to set it all in place.

For contour and to bronze up my face I used the Benefit Hoola bronzer, and for blush I used the Sleek blusher in the shade antique. I used the SophXrevolution highlighter palette, taking the gold shade on my cheekbones, down my nose and on my cupids bow.

I wanted to go for a soft lilacy pink eye, nothing too over the top. I used this Ted Baker eyeshadow trio which I received for Christmas. I took the pale shade all over my lid, using the other shades in my crease and outer corners. I used a Ted Baker highlighter pencil on my brow bone and my inner corners.

For eyeliner I used the Ted Baker felt liner that came in the same set for Christmas, and for eyebrows I used the Benefit Ka-Brow in the shade 4. I recently became obsessed with the TooFaced 'better than sex' mascara, which is what I used in this look. I then applied the Eyelure 3/4 lashes and the Makeup Revolution lipstick in Chauffer.

For my casual daytime outfit I'm wearing a dark grey roll neck top, ripped Jenna jeans and heeled
boots from NewLook. My belt is from River Island and my tassel earrings are from Matalan.

I hope you have a lovely Valentines day, whatever you might be doing.
Until next time.

I've been to Belgium, Corfu, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Mallorca, Majorca, Tenerife, Fuerta Ventura, Gran Canaria, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Wales, Monaco, Ibiza.

Which destination is number one on your bucket list?
I'd love to go to New York! It's definitely at the top of my list.

What is your most ideal holiday?
Relaxing on the beach in the sun, with a bit of exploring on the side!

Which place did you think was so special that you would love to go back there sometime?
Costa Rica was amazing and an experience of a lifetime, so I'd love to go back there one day.

Show us your nicest holiday photo

This is a sunset in Sri Lanka a few years ago.

Although this looks like a poster, this is a photo I took in Costa Rica of the infinity pool.

Did you have to travel for work sometime? If yes, where?
I've never travelled for work.

Who do you mostly go on holiday with?
I've always gone on holiday with my family, although I've been away on my own and with university.

Who would you like to go on vacation with?
I'd love to go abroad with my boyfriend at some point as we've only ever been in the UK together.

I haven't no, but I'd like to!

Definitely a zoo! I love animals.

Would you rather go on a ski or sun vacation?
Sun vacation all the way.

What is your worst holiday memory?
Being on holiday in Greece and going on day trips up in the hills. I was ill every single time due to the coach and windy roads!

Which countries are you going on holiday to this year?
I haven't got any abroad holidays booked this year and I'm not sure I'll be going on any :( However I have some Cornwall trips coming up and one near Kent to look forward to.

Where would you never go on holiday to?
Eastern Europe doesn't appeal to me at the moment.

I really enjoyed writing this, and it's made me want to book a holiday! I tag everyone reading this to do it, and make sure you link it in the comments so I can see your answers!

Until next time.

Boyfriend does my makeup!

I finally got Aaron to do my makeup! It's been a long time coming, but here's the 'my boyfriend does my makeup' post!

First of all, these are the products I gave him to choose from:

- L'Oreal true match foundation
- Essence concealer
- MUA loose powder
- Bourjois bronzer
- Sleek blusher
- Benefit Ka-Brow
- Makeup revolution highlighter palette
- Makeup revolution eyeshadow palette, the naked 3 palette and the NYX wicked dreams palette
- TooFaced better than sex mascara
- Bourjois liquid eyeliner
- 3 lipsticks: Urban Decay Vice lipstick in red, Revolution pinky nude, and Mac's whirl

These are the 'tools' I supplied him with:

The base:

He started by putting the foundation all over his hands and making abit of a mess. He chose the sponge to blend it in, and it didn't actually turn out too bad! There were a couple patchy bits but overall, he did a good job.

He put concealer in small triangles under my eyes - he clearly did his research! And blended it in pretty well with the sponge. He then went to powder my face, and I ended up with a big white circle on my cheek where he put it. Overall the powdering went well, although I ended up looking abit ghostly in places!

He did attempt to contour, and he actually chose the right product and brush, and he even put it in the right place! He did put abit too much on the brush so it came out very dark, but I think he blended it out quite well.

Blusher was fine, he put it where it needed to be, but again he put too much on and I had pink circles on my cheeks like a clown. Highlighter was a disaster. He used the gold shade from the palette which is the one I normally use, however he decided to put it on top of my contour. Like what was the point! So that wasn't ideal.

Overall the base was ok. I wouldn't have gone out like it, but it wasn't horrendous.

Onto eye makeup, and Aaron chose to use the makeup revolution palette. He chose to only use one shade - a light glittery pink - all over the lid, which didn't come out too bad. The eyeliner was terrible! I'm sorry, but it was horrendous. I mean LOOK at it! Bless him, he tried. The mascara wasn't much better, and did end up halfway down my face. Again, he tried, but I think he was finding it difficult and was scared of poking me in the eye. My eyebrows were very patchy and lumpy where he put too much product in, and didn't fill in my whole brow. I think its safe to say my eyes were a mess!

For lips he chose the revolution liquid lipstick which actually didn't turn out too bad.

Overall I don't think he did too badly. The base was fine, apart from the highlight on top of the bronzer, but the eyes were awful. I'd like to thank Aaron for joining in with this, and hopefully I can get him involved with more posts soon!

Until next time.
